Daedalus Productions, Inc. is a not-for-profit, documentary film and television company founded in 1980 by Nina Rosenblum and Daniel Allentuck to produce documentary films on issues not usually covered by conventional media, and to produce non-fiction television programs for public television, cable markets and international distribution. With extensive experience in international co-production, Daedalus Productions, Inc. has produced/directed with PBS, HBO, Showtime/NY Times TV, Canal +/Spain, WDR/Germany, La Sept/France, Channel Four/UK, SBS/Australia. Our films have won numerous awards, and we are a highly respected member of the world-wide non-fiction film community.

Founders

Nina Rosenblum is an Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and a respected voice in the field of social documentary. Her work includes Liberators: Fighting on Two Fronts in WWII, America and Lewis Hine, Ordinary Miracles: The Photo League’s New York, and Lock-Up: The Prisoners of Rikers Island. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Directors Guild of America, and International Documentary Association.

Daniel Allentuck

Daniel is an award-winning writer and producer with a career spanning over 40 years. He has co-directed numerous Daedalus films and authored essays on art, photography, and cultural history. His work reflects a deep commitment to truth, narrative, and justice in documentary.
